Debt Problems

What company would you recommend to consolidate your debts?

I need to do this as soon as possible. Has anyone consolidated? With who and why? Any suggestions would help! Thanks everyone!

  1. If you have bad credit, speak with a bankruptcy attorney. It's possible that all of your debts could be discharged and you could have a fresh start. Debt conolidators just put you in more debt. That's the last thing that you need. Good luck.
  2. Don't use a company to consolidate your debts. You probably have free local debt counseling in your city. Speak with them. Pending that: Budget-know and plan where your money is going. Get another job-sell anything you don't need If you have a car payment sell the car. Get a clunker car for a few thousand bucks in CASH Call your creditors: You can do much the same thing as a debt consolidator just without the additional fees. Got a house: consider selling. You are much better off renting, driving a paid for car and salvaging your credit. There are always other houses and cars for sale-always.
  3. Debt CON-solidation loans don't help. You need to treat the problem (overspending), not the symptom (paying too much in interest) "The Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey should be used as a textbook in college. But, you can read it this weekend at Barnes & Noble.
