1. Check here: http://www.nfcc.org/ Find a legit non-profit credit counseling service in your area. Many debt relief/credit repair companies will do you more harm than good. They take their fees up front and trash your credit. Typical method is to not pay any of your credit cards for 3 months then offer low settlement under threat of bankruptcy. Many credit cards refuse to play the game and will just sue.
2. 1.) Stop buying stuff you don't need with money you don't have. 2.) Snowball your debt according to balance, smallest to largest. 3.) Repeat step 1. Glad I could help.
