How do you fix the national debt?
Everyone loves to bitch and moan about America's debt problems, but no one ever says what needs to be done. So how do you fix it?

- The Government would have to curtail spending or increase revenue through taxation.
- Bush, I told you to stop asking here..
- The best way to do it is to cut spending, especially on welfare and entitlement programs.
- They need to cut down on unnecessary spending and not take on any more expenditure projects (ie the healthcare plans being proposed by the 2 Democrat candidates would make our debt double). It would help if we would hurry up in Iraq too
- 1. Start taxing the very wealthy people to pay their share, since they made the most money profit from the war 2. But what will happen probably is we will have extreme inflation so that the govt. can repay the debts with "dollars" that have less value than the "dollars" they borrowed from the Chinese to finance Bush's war. 3. Most of the cost will be borne by people who are now too young to vote. The old people who benefitted from Bush's war will spend their days living in the South of France.
- 1) Reduce the federal budget to 1990 size. It is 1/3rd what it is today. 2) Remove unconstitutional programs such as medicare and social security by not accepting new people to join in. Let it expire with all its current reciepients. End the unconstitutional department of education. *Raising taxes wont do it. it CANT do it. You would need to raise taxes %500 or %600. The only thing that will do it is reducing the size of government, and thinking twice before implementing feel good programs left and right.
