cerdit card issue re resolving the debt?
i have a debt i wanna pay off. it has gone to a collection agency and it has been around 6 years that i have not paid it. i live in nsw australia. i want to pay and be able to get my credit score back to normal and be able to apply for credit. any help will be great. ps i was young n dumb n now im being mature and trying to fix the problem

- Call the agency and arrange to pay in instalments as you can afford. You will need to strictly keep to the instalment plan because if you are late, you will be defaulting the agreement and be in trouble again.
- I don't know how long a collection stays on your report in Australia, but it usually stays on for 7 years in the U.S. There are two ways to improve your credit, pay bills on time and if there are any negatives then you should make sure that they report them as paid. The second is time. The longer any negative information stays on your credit report the less impact it will have on your credit.
