Debt Problems

Has anyone ever been helped by First Choice Lending or by Lending Tree to consolidate debts?

Some guy called my mom from First Choice Lending about helping her with debts. How did they get her number? Is it a scam? I heard of Lending Tree, can they help me even if i have a score of 500 and owe about $10,000 that I am in debt right now.

  1. Talk with a financial analyst/advisor/planner about the situation. They can take a look at your situation and give you a better answer. I have found that many times, a debt consolidation loan is not always the best answer. Especially with a score that low. If you are in the DFW/TX area, please email me and I would be more than happy to see what I can do. rjhancock at mac dot com ---- Be wary of CCCS. Most credit counseling services I have heard about end up making your credit worse. The creditors still call you for the money while CCCS has a history of late payments. Have had 2 family members go through this.
  2. I don't know much about First Choice Lending, but they're probably trying to drum up business for equity lines, so they're calling homeowners at random. If your mom needs a loan, she should go looking for the best one she can find--not just the one who called her. Lending Tree connects borrowers with lenders--they don't do the loans themselves. If you have bad credit, you're not likely to find a loan that won't charge extra-high interest. If you're falling behind on your payments, I suggest calling Consumer Credit Counseling Service. They're reputable, non-profit, and nationwide. CCCS can help you get your finances under control without ripping you off. Links below.
  3. Hi Cocoa, Many companies will offer you money and rip you off, take as much from you as they can. Possibly think that, Richard H, could advise you, but do not know this person! So would take his advice, but with caution. Regards Keith
